Official Tachiai Battōjutsu 12 Secret Kata of Tenshinryu Hyoho Book

In Tachiai Battōjyutsu (立相抜刀術, A technique of drawing a sword performed standing up), what are called Kata (勢法) are 12 techniques. These are advanced techniques and extremely difficult. At the same time, they are a condensation of the essence of Tenshinryu. For this reason, Tenshin Sensei has long been teaching these 12 Kata from a relatively early stage. This is because early contact with the core teachings facilitates progress. However, the previous lack of a coherent textbook makes learning difficult. This document was created to provide an overview of the 12 techniques and to aid in their learning.
